Independence Day—the unofficial halfway point of summer and the birthday of our great nation. In between sack races and your town parade, hot dogs and sparklers, ponder this for a moment: if Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin all had pre-schoolers at home, the Declaration of Independence would likely have taken on a whole new meaning! As moms, we hold these truths to be self-evident: every kid will be wearing red, white and blue—so dress yours in tangerine and turquoise and you’ll have no trouble finding them if they get lost in the crowd. Two hot dogs really is enough. And, ‘This land is your land’ is best sung by a gaggle of silly six year olds. Happy 4th!
