Decisions Are Made By Those Who Show Up

If you haven’t heard, it’s an election year. If you think there’s room for improvement in an area that means something to you and you think it might be time to get a little more involved in the political process, here are a few things that you should know: 1. To vote in Delaware and Pennsylvania, you must be registered before election days. In Delaware, there are FOUR ELECTION DAYS THIS YEAR. April 28th is the Presidential Primary. May 12th is School Board Elections. September 15th is the State Primary. November 3 is the General Election. In PA, two election days: the primary on 4/28, and the general on 11/3. Why Delaware makes it so complicated is anyone’s guess but here we are. To vote in

Random But Intentional

Buzz co-owner Jennifer’s car got broken into on Christmas Eve while she was out for a run; the thief made off with her adorable purse, her prescription glasses, and a few credit cards, drivers license, and checkbook. Within an hour, she’d cancelled everything; a week later, new cards and ID procured, she had mostly forgotten all about it, save for the LV wrist wallet she had gotten in Paris at the Louis Vuitton store, a treasured memento. Fast forward to early February, and she comes home to her bag - including the LV, the glasses, and everything else - waiting for her on her front porch with a note saying her bag was found on Ramsey Road. This lovely Random Act of Kindness set us in motion.

The Class

Remember The Class? When I grew up, it was an evening event in the cafetorium of my elementary school on Long Island. Mothers and daughters watched a grainy film about The Change and there was probably some awkward Q&A, and then the girls whispered about it for months afterward. We had the Girl Bible - Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret - to help us with figuring out the details, although it seemed that Margaret and the PTS were using contraptions we knew nothing about. It’s finally February, after a January of funerals and birthdays - because that’s how it goes, isn’t it? The painted ponies go up and down. By the time this gets sent to the blogosphere, the Iowa Caucus will be caucusing and the Super Bowl will have superbowled and hopefully J Lo’s wardrobe didn’t malfunction and we can check off a few more boxes in the march to spring.
