Blog (Taylor’s Version)
All the feels after the 10 minute version of All Too Well *plus* the short film has the whole world rebreaking their own hearts by reliving every late teens/early 20s breakup when we all thought we knew everything and of course we knew nothing. We can still feel the knowinglessness all these years later. If you have a teenage girl in your life, just memorize every word and even let the young kids sing the “Fuck the Patriarchy” part out loud without giving them a look and they will love you forever because Taylor gets it and you get Taylor so that means YOU get it. Taylor is once again bridging the mother-daughter divide one refrain at a time.
“What if the miracle is getting one moment with you?"
Red (Taylor’s Version) is what the world needs right now, as the leaves fall down like pieces into place, as we head into Thanksgiving “break” and winter “break” (they keep on using that word, but I do not think it means what they think it means) and the busiest darkest coldest time of year. Taylor’s Version of this winter will be a more hopeful, more uplifting, more engaging and more energizing version of the holidays last year, and we.need.it. like we needed the 10 minute version of All Too Well. We didn’t know we needed it, but now that we have it we can never live without it and time will forever be divided between when we had the regular version and thought it was perfect and then we got the new version and we realize we knew nothing.
And also Elmo’s tweet was the best one.
